What's Included in Freight Rates?
This estimator covers ocean freight or air freight charges only. A complete landed cost also includes: origin charges (THC, documentation, container stuffing), destination charges (port handling, customs clearance), import duties, and inland transport. Why Do Rates Fluctuate?
Ocean freight rates fluctuate based on vessel capacity (supply), global trade volumes (demand), fuel costs, port congestion, and geopolitical events. The estimates above reflect typical market conditions. In peak seasons, rates may be 30–50% higher.
LCL vs FCL Break-Even
LCL typically breaks even with FCL at 12–15 CBM. Below this threshold, LCL is more economical. Above it, FCL offers better per-CBM value. For regular shipments over 15 CBM, FCL is almost always the better choice.
