20ft container: 5.9m L × 2.35m W × 2.39m H, approx 25 CBM usable. 40ft container: 12.0m L × 2.35m W × 2.39m H, approx 58 CBM usable. 40ft HC: 12.0m L × 2.35m W × 2.69m H, approx 67 CBM usable.
Containers have both a volume limit and a payload weight limit. A 20ft container's maximum payload is ~21,700 kg. A 40ft has ~26,500 kg. Dense cargo (metal parts, tyres) may hit the weight limit before the volume limit.
Theoretical maximum container fill is rarely achievable in practice. Irregular carton stacking, structural bracing, and access requirements typically result in 85–92% of theoretical capacity. Our 90% efficiency factor reflects this.
