Poultry & Livestock Logistics

Cold Chain Excellence for Protein Trade

Poultry and livestock products are among the most demanding cargo categories in international freight. Temperature control must be maintained from the processing facility through to the consumer's cold store — any break in the cold chain risks cargo spoilage, health authority rejection, and total loss. Marwest LLC operates temperature-controlled freight solutions for frozen poultry, processed meat, and animal products on Africa-China and USA-Africa trade lanes, with continuous temperature monitoring and full cold chain documentation.

Key Challenges

Logistics Obstacles in This Sector

Cold Chain Integrity

Frozen poultry must maintain -18°C or below from factory to cold store. Any temperature deviation triggers rejection by health authorities. We monitor every reefer container in real time via satellite.

Health & Sanitary Certification

Poultry exports require veterinary health certificates, GACC registration (for China exports), and destination country import permits. One missing document stops cargo at the border.

Halal Compliance

Many African markets require halal certification for poultry and meat products. We verify halal certificates and ensure they are correctly referenced in all shipping documents to prevent border delays.

Cargo & Regulatory Review

We confirm the product's HS code, applicable health certificates, GACC or other authority registrations required, and halal certification requirements for the destination market.

2

Container Pre-Trip Inspection

Reefer container undergoes full PTI (pre-trip inspection) at the CFS or factory. Container pre-cooled to set-point before loading begins.

3

Supervised Loading

Cargo loaded at controlled temperature. Temperature probes inserted and calibrated. Container sealed with tamper-evident seal.

4

Health Certificate & Documentation

Veterinary health certificate issued and endorsed by the competent authority. All halal certificates, inspection certificates, and shipping documents collated and cross-referenced.
