The Marwest LLC internship programme offers undergraduate students a structured, hands-on introduction to freight forwarding. Our internships are paid, project-based, and designed to give genuine work experience. Over 8–12 weeks, you will contribute to live projects, work alongside experienced professionals, and gain insight into one of the world's most complex and exciting industries.
Work with our freight coordinators on live shipments. Learn how containers are booked, tracked, documented, and cleared through customs.
Support our customs brokers on US or China clearance cases. Learn how to classify goods, prepare commercial invoices, and file CBP/GACC entries.
Work with our finance team on USD holding accounts and LC processing. Learn how trade finance instruments work in real import/export transactions.
Support our data team with shipment analytics, carrier performance tracking, and client reporting. Python/Excel experience helpful.
Work in our Lomé or Windhoek office on live freight movements, customs clearance, and client support. Exceptional for students interested in Africa logistics.
Support our commercial team with client research, market analysis, and proposal preparation. Great for students interested in business development.
Comprehensive induction covering the freight industry, Marwest LLC's operations, compliance requirements, and your placement's tools and systems.
You are assigned to a senior professional and contribute to real, live projects. Your work has genuine impact on actual shipments and clients.
In your final week, you present your project findings and learnings to a panel of senior managers — a valuable career experience.
I thought internships were about filing and making coffee. At Marwest LLC I was coordinating actual container movements by week 3. I learned more in 10 weeks than in a semester of logistics school.
Being in Togo, working with real clients importing from China — it was eye-opening. The team treated me as a professional from day one. I had a job offer before I finished.
The USD account holding service was completely new to me. My supervisor spent real time explaining it, and by the end I was running my own mini-analysis on exchange rate risk for the team.
Current undergraduate students (any discipline, any university) in their penultimate or final year. Postgraduate students also welcome.
