Zero-Compromise Safety Across All Operations

In freight forwarding and logistics, safety is not a compliance checkbox — it is the foundation that every shipment, warehouse operation, and port movement is built upon. Marwest LLC maintains a zero-tolerance approach to safety non-compliance, whether in our own facilities, at our carrier partners' terminals, or across the cargo handling chains we coordinate.

Our health and safety framework is applied consistently across all six offices, with local adaptation for the specific regulatory requirements of the USA, China, Namibia, South Africa, and Togo.

Safety Standards

Our Health & Safety Framework

OSHA Compliance (USA)

All US warehouse and cargo handling operations comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry Standards and 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards where applicable. Annual OSHA audits are conducted at our Texas and Georgia facilities.

IATA DGR — Dangerous Goods

All personnel handling dangerous goods by air are IATA DGR certified and re-certified annually. DG cargo is accepted only under strict classification, packaging, and documentation protocols.

IMDG Code — Sea Freight

All ocean freight DG cargo is handled in compliance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. Incorrect DG declarations are refused and reported to the appropriate authority.

Warehouse Safety

Our warehouses operate under written safety management systems covering forklift operations, racking inspection, fire prevention, emergency evacuation, and hazardous materials storage.

Staff Training

All warehouse and port staff receive formal safety induction training and annual refresher training. Safety incident near-misses are reported, investigated, and actioned under a no-blame reporting culture.

Carrier Vetting

We only use carriers that meet our minimum safety standards — valid P&I Club cover, ISM Code compliance for ocean carriers, IOSA certification for airlines, and valid cargo liability insurance for road carriers.

Dangerous Goods

Our Approach to Hazardous Materials

Expert DG Handling — Air, Sea, and Road
Licensed, Trained & Equipped

Expert DG Handling — Air, Sea, and Road

Dangerous goods handling is a high-risk, high-compliance area of freight that requires specialist knowledge. Marwest LLC maintains IATA DGR certification for air freight and operates in full compliance with the IMDG Code for ocean freight and ADR/local road transport regulations for dangerous goods by road.

We will not accept dangerous goods that are incorrectly classified, improperly packaged, or without the required documentation — regardless of commercial pressure to do so.
