Marwest LLC was founded on the belief that international trade, done responsibly, is one of the most powerful tools for economic development — especially in sub-Saharan Africa. Our CSR commitments reflect that belief: we invest in the communities where we operate, minimize the environmental footprint of our operations, support ethical trade practices, and build transparent, accountable supply chains.
CSR at Marwest is not a marketing exercise — it is a set of binding commitments we hold ourselves accountable to, across all six offices and in every business relationship we enter.
We invest in the communities in which we operate across Africa — prioritizing local employment, skills development, and supplier diversity. In Namibia, South Africa, and Togo, we actively partner with local freight and logistics SMEs to build sector capacity.
We are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of our operations. We offset air freight emissions, optimize ocean freight load factors to reduce per-unit emissions, and have committed to fossil-fuel-free fleet vehicles at all African offices by 2028.
We refuse to participate in supply chains that involve forced labour, child labour, or corruption. All supplier and partner relationships are subject to our Code of Conduct, which prohibits unethical trade practices without exception.
We support our clients in building transparent, traceable supply chains — providing documentation trails, country-of-origin verification, and audit support for sustainability-conscious importers and exporters.
Africa is not just a market for Marwest LLC — it is our home. Three of our six offices are based in Africa, and our business was founded on the conviction that Africa's trade potential is vastly underserved by existing global logistics infrastructure.
We invest in local African freight talent through internships, graduate programmes, and partnerships with African logistics training institutes. We believe that African-owned, African-staffed freight businesses are the long-term foundation of the continent's trade growth.
We partner with certified carbon offset projects to neutralize the CO₂ emissions of all Marwest-arranged air freight shipments. Clients can opt in to carbon-neutral ocean freight offsetting.
Our African office vehicle fleets are targeted for full electrification by 2028, starting with South Africa and Namibia where EV infrastructure is most developed.
Our documentation workflows are progressively moving to fully digital — reducing paper consumption across all offices. E-BLs, digital customs submissions, and e-certificates of origin where regulations permit.
